The movie proved to be a stepping stone in her career, and she started receiving offers from films such as Urban Legend and Cruel Intentions. American Pie - a cult flick about sexual encounters between teenagers - was her first major break in Hollywood. In the role of Vicky as the virgin made her an attractive model. But none of this resulted in a massively success Hollywood career. Reid failed to make it famous in Hollywood through films such as Josie and the Pussycats. This was an unsatisfactory comeback for her career. The actress had a minor role in American Pie 2, but the film did not aid. Reid is more famous as a designer or party person rather than an actor because of her off-screen mishaps, a flimsy and widely-publicized plastic-surgery and a host of flash-and-miss performances.
